Today marks the 237th anniversary of the Battle of Camden. The battle would be a crushing defeat for the Patriots and the downfall of General “Granny” Gates, hero of Saratoga. It was 12 years ago this week that the idea of the APG was conceived. The idea had actually come to me after a visit to Camden and saw what a great site it was and that it needed to be protected. Our goal was to raise $3000 to donate for the care and up keep of the site. We raised $5000. All of it due to the generosity of artists, donors and collectors.
