Special Presentation at the 2019 Atlanta Show

The Artist Preservation Group is partnering with the Atlanta Model Figure Society for a special presentation at the upcoming 2019 Atlanta Show. This presentation will made by Allen Roberson, the Executive Director of the SC Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum, in Columbia, SC. Allen will discuss the butternut frock coat in museum’s collection, currently being conserved as a result of a donation by the APG. This coat was the property of Capt. E.B. Cantey of Camden, SC, who served with the 6th SC Regiment, and was severely wounded at the Battle of Sharpsburg.
Allen will describe the challenges faced in conserving 19th century uniforms, and provide detailed information on the construction of uniforms of that era. He will also discuss some of the Museum’s other exhibits as time permits. Please plan to attend this presentation, scheduled for 11:00 am, of Saturday, February 16th. There is no charge.
