MFCA – APG Auction and Events

Almost 2 years ago the Miniature Figure Collectors of America (MFCA) invited the Artist Preservation Group Inc (APG) to join them at their spring show and host the APG bi-annual auction and other traditional APG events.  We were honored to be allowed to participate. The APG conducted a tour, a painting workshop, a raffle, and our bi-annual auction. This year we were again invited to join them and conduct these events.

The Show. 

May 4th and 5th at the Radisson Hotel Philadelphia Northeast, 2400 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA

The Tour

On May 4 2018 the APG will be sponsoring a day long visit to the City of Philadelphia. The visit will center around two tours. The first tour will be to Independence Hall followed later that day by a tour of the new Museum of the American Revolution. The tours are being scheduled so that not only will you have plenty of free time in the Philadelphia Historic District but we will also be able to get together at Sonny’s Famous Steaks, voted one of the top 10 Philly Cheese Steak Restaurants in Philadelphia for lunch.
We will carpool to downtown Philadelphia and back to the hotel. Volunteer drivers will be needed.
Depart hotel at 7:30 am
Scheduled group visit to Independence Hall TBA
Scheduled group visit to The Museum of the American Revolution 1:00PM
Return to hotel at 3:30pm
Fee $35 per person. $30 for APG members.

The Workshop

The APG is planning on hosting a day long workshop by Bill Ottinger on building Historex mounted kits at the MFCA Show May 4, 2018. Bill is renown for his expertise working with Historex kits and the author of Napoleonic Plastic Figure Modeling (Windrow and Greene 1997). Cost for the workshop is $150, $135 for APG members. The APG will provide the kit. In addition attendees will receive a chance at a raffle of autographed copy of Bills book. Seats are limited so if you are planning on attending please notify Mike Stelzel at ASAP to reserve your spot.

The Auction

We will again be auctioning artwork donated from some of the best and most renown and award winning artists. The auction will be conducted at 1pm on Sat May 5, 2018. Some of the artists generously donating pieces are John Rosengrant, Matt Springer, Stephen Weibe, Wendy Rafalski, Keith Rocco, Peter Ferk, Adrian Bay, Dave Maddox, and David Zabrocki.
