Hello all and Happy New Year.
It’s that time of year again and I’m happy to announce the Artist Preservation Group Annual Membership Drive and Raffle. I also want to pass on a bit of news.
We had a relatively slow year in 2021. I was able to attend 2 shows and our biggest contribution went to the American Battlefield Trust in the amount of $5000 for land at the Cold Harbor/Gaines Mill Battlefields. Smaller donations went to other organizations, mostly in the form of membership. Totals are being done now. Financially we’re in good shape but we need to continue our fundraising to keep the ball rolling for the future.
A lot will be going on this year, and as always, we need your support. Our biggest event will be our exhibit at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, PA. The exhibit will be held on 18 and 19 June and everyone is invited. Guidance for exhibiting will be provided on our website. Along with the exhibit Scale 75 has offered to put on a painting clinic on 16 and 17 June at the museum. We have 20 seats available and if you are interested, please contact me to reserve a spot. Cost etc , will be on our site as well.
We’ve committed to a donation of $10,000 to the Museum to be presented at the exhibit. To raise money, we will be conducting our usual fundraising projects like selling painted miniatures at shows and an auction of pieces specifically donated for this event. Once again, some very talented artists in our hobby have stepped forward and offered their work. John Rosengrant, Matt Wellhouser, Matt Springer, Jason Whitman, Rick Taylor, Mike Blank, and Doug Cohen just to name a few. We are sorting out the details and will announce them on our site once in place.
One of our members has recently moved to Oklahoma and is interested in looking into a possible project there. If the search is successful, the project might be an item from the 20th Century. More on that later this year.
I want to remind you to check out our blog from time to time. It’s our primary source for dispensing information. https://artistpreservationgroup.com/blog/ As we closer to the exhibit in June most of the info on the exhibit will be posted there. Comments are always welcome. We also now have a link on the home page of our site to information on the exhibit. https://artistpreservationgroup.com/2022-museum-of-the-american-revolution-exhibit/
Soon, many of you will be getting a renewal letter in the mail. Please fill out the information and return to the address provide with a check or money order. If you are not on our mailing list you can simply go to our website athttps://artistpreservationgroup.com/membership/ and pay by PayPal.
I hope that we can count on you again this year by renewing your membership. We just can’t do what we do without your support. And again, this year we will hold a raffle as part of the drive. Each renewal or new member will receive a chance in the drawing for some great prizes. Check the website for updates on prizes.
Thank you again.
Best Regards,
Mike Stelzel
