APG board member Tom Holtz attended the grand opening of Lauren County museum which features some artifacts the APG purchased for the museum to display. Here is his report.
I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening Ceremony of the Laurens County Museum’s new Revolutionary War wing on Sunday June 28.
Our contributions had a prominent place in the exhibit.
As you walked in, immediately in front of you is the introduction panel surrounding the musket we donated.
As you walked around you came to our pistol, then the cuttoe.
At the end was Mike Stelzel’s figure of Stephen Cumbo.
The exhibit highlighted the 14 actions of the War of the American Revolution that occurred in Laurens County SC,
The exhibit was professionally designed through a grant from the State of South Carolina.
I was very impressed by the look and layout of the exhibit and the prominent position taken by the artifacts we donated.
I highly recommend this to our members.
