Hello All,
With just days left until the conclusion of our 2024 Membership Drive, I am encouraging everyone to renew or get on board. We are building momentum for 2 anniversaries next year, the 20th Anniversary of the APG and the 250th Anniversary of the start of our War for Independence. We intend to greet next year on the run. With that said I wanted to announce an endeavor we are undertaking to prepare for some exciting projects.
The APG Board has voted in favor of setting aside $25000 as as a fund that will help us be prepared to tackle any projects that will arise during our 250th Anniversary years. (2025-2033). The money set aside will be placed in a CD for a minimum of 1 year. In addition to funding some other smaller projects we will work to build on that initial investment.
You will also see a few new kits added to the APG Store in the coming months. These kits will be created for us by 3 very well-known artists. I’ll make the announcements as to what they are after I receive the masters.
Of course, all of this will require raising funds. How can you help? First by becoming a member or if you are already a member renewing your membership. I am also adding/upgrading the donation button in our store. That button will make it easier to contribute should the urge strike you. Purchasing from the APG Store or from our table at the shows helps greatly Getting on board or staying onboard before April 1st will give you a chance at some mighty fine prizes in the drawing the 1st week of April. First prize is a fantastic giclee by Keith Rocco titled ” They Were Ready for Us.” The VMI Guns and the Union Cavalry Charge at the Battle of New Market. This 33 x 20 inch giclee is a limited edition number 40/300 donated to us by the Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Foundation. Membership and renew rates before 1 April is $30. After that the rate will be $40.
