The APG has just contributed $5000 to the restoration of the Sawmill Trace Road at the Princeton Battlefield. The project is part of the American Battlefield Trusts “Washingtons Legacy” plan for the Battlefield. The plan calls for landscape work on the trail and interpretive improvement. The Trail is part of the route Washington took around Cornwallis on his March to Princeton and eventually Morristown. Without this road, Washington would have had to take the Kings Hwy, and the outcome of that march most likely would have been different.
