Welcome Matt Springer.

Last Friday, the APG Board of Directors held our annual board meeting via Zoom. The meeting covered several topics, membership, treasury, future projects, and the election of a new Secretary. Long time supporter and friend Matt Springer was nominated and by unanimous decision elected to the post.

For any of you not familiar with Matt, here is a short bio.

Matt Springer first came to the art of military miniatures in the early 90s after discovering Bill Horan’s Masterclass book. “I was hooked on the hobby almost immediately and really enjoyed seeing my progress on each successive piece. I think that the drive to improve is still my primary motivation each time I pick up a brush.” Matt started as a painter of stock figures. His work developed into conversions and, finally, into sculpting his own busts and figures. Some of his figures have been made into commercially produced pieces. He enjoys working on figures of most eras from Medievals to WWII and even occasional explorations into the fantasy and sci-fi realms. “The American Revolution has recently been drawing my interest with its historical richness and great variety of uniforms and campaigns.” Matt is an Atlanta Military Figure Society Grand Master, Chicago Medal winner and long-time member and supporter of The Artist Preservation Group. His work can regularly be seen at both Atlanta and Chicago shows. He lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia with his wife, Lynnette, and their dog, Luna.

I might add in addition to the above, Matt has been very generous to the APG over the years contributing his tremendous talents to our organization. We are all very happy to have him on board.

Congratulations Matt.
